Laser hair removal is also safely performed on the face to remove upper lip hair, sideburns, and hair on the chin or jawline. During your laser treatment, you may feel a snapping sensation like a rubber band as the light pulses but this is often considered minimally painful.

Who Can Benefit from Laser Hair Removal?

The best candidates for laser hair removal treatments are those with dark hair and light skin color but all skin types can benefit. Since the results are obtained by pigmented hair follicles absorbing light energy, blonde, gray, or other light hair color is not successfully targeted. The contrast between dark hair and light skin also helps the laser target the hair follicles better.

Results and Recovery

There is minimal recovery time needed after laser hair removal. However, you may have mild redness and swelling so we advise you to avoid sun exposure, exercise, and exfoliating skin products like glycolic acid or retinol for 24 hours. Depending on the size of the treatment area, we recommend 4-8 treatments for complete results. The hair grows in different cycles so multiple sessions scheduled 6-12 weeks apart will target each follicle.
