Cosmelan Peel

Men and women with hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage or aging can benefit from the Cosmelan depigmentation peel. This is also a great treatment for acne scars and rough skin texture. Patients of any skin tone can receive the Cosmelan peel treatment, and it is also safe for most skin types, although sensitive skin may be more prone to redness and sensitivity. One week prior to treatment, avoid skincare products and cosmetic treatments that use glycolic acid. A series of chemical peels can be considered, depending on your goals.

Results and Recovery

There is no downtime after a Cosmelan peel, but there are a few steps to take while your skin heals. Make sure to use the prescribed creams after removing the Cosmelan mask and leave it on overnight. This needs to be used with sunscreen from the third day to 30 days after your cosmetic procedure. Peeling and skin reddening typically occurs during the first 3-5 days after treatment but new skin will quickly be revealed. It can take about 1-2 weeks for the pigmented spots to fade away, but most patients will see clearer, brighter, and healthier skin after 3-4 weeks.
