What is Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning is a noninvasive, nonsurgical treatment where dead skin cells and peach fuzz are scraped away with a scalpel. During treatment, the scalpel is gently glided across the skin to exfoliate away dead skin cells and remove hair, making your skin look smoother, brighter, and younger-looking. 

At MedSkinEssentials, we combine dermaplane with a peel. It all starts with cleansing your skin. From there, we’ll perform the dermaplane treatment and apply a customized chemical peel to the skin to continue the exfoliation process. We’ll then perform some light extraction and hydrate and protect the skin with sunscreen.

Recovery and Results

Most people have little to no side effects after dermaplaning. You should be able to go back to your normal routine and usual skincare regimen immediately unless advised by your provider. Some possible side effects include soreness, redness, and swelling, but those should subside on their own after a day or two.
