Customized Peel

A customized chemical peel uses a custom chemical solution tailored to your skin type and the skin conditions you hope to treat. Chemical peels commonly use ingredients like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid, and other ingredients to exfoliate the skin and remove damaged skin cells. As the dead cells are exfoliated and sloughed off, the surface later will eventually peel off to reveal a fresh layer of new skin.

These peels can be performed on the face, neck, or hands to rejuvenate evenly toned, smooth, and brighter skin. Different levels of chemical peels penetrate the skin at different depths to target different skin conditions:

Light Chemical Peel

Light or superficial peels remove surface imperfections like fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and hyperpigmentation. They can also improve rough skin texture and sun-damaged skin.

Medium Chemical Peel

Medium chemical peels penetrate through the surface of the skin and reach the top of the middle layer of the skin. This strength of peel can treat moderate wrinkles, acne scarring, age spots, and uneven skin tone. Your skin may feel slightly tingly while the peel is applied.

Deep Chemical Peel

A deep chemical peel penetrates through the middle dermal layer of the skin to treat deeper acne scars, extensive sun damage, moderate fine lines and wrinkles, and precancerous growths. While the deep peel is applied, you may feel a tingling or stinging sensation. This peel is best suited to address deep facial lines and wrinkles.

Who Can Benefit from a Customized Peel?

The main benefit of customized chemical peeling is that it is for everyone! Men and women of all skin types and skin tones can benefit from customized chemical peels. If you have sensitive skin or want to target early signs of aging skin, we will use a light peel to prevent skin damage. If you wish to smooth deep acne scars and completely resurface your skin, a deep chemical peel could be your solution. We will tailor your chemical peel treatment to your skin conditions and desired results.

Results and Recovery

The strength of your chemical peel will determine how long it takes for your skin to shed. Light chemical peels result in minimal or no shedding while deep chemical peels can take up to two weeks for the outer layer of skin to flake off in thin sheets. As your skin heals, make sure to avoid sun exposure and keep your skin moisturized. Do not pick at your flaking skin since this could cause scarring.
