Sculpting Facial
A sculpting facial or microcurrent therapy uses small currents of electricity to tighten the skin and improve muscle tone. The microcurrent device is equipped with two electrodes on one end that deliver gentle electrical currents to the face. This is not considered a painful treatment, and many compare it to the sensation of a facial massage. A conductive gel will be applied to the skin at the start of your treatment to protect the skin and keep you comfortable.
The application of mild electrical currents stimulates mild contractions in the facial muscles to recounter the face and promotes healthy blood flow to plump the skin and improve overall skin health. Increased blood circulation can also help with wound healing and skin inflammation associated with acne and other skin conditions. There is also some evidence that collagen and elastin production is stimulated with microcurrent devices to plump the skin and replenish volume loss.
Who Can Benefit from a Sculpting Facial?
If you want to improve mild skin laxity and tone the muscles in your face, you may benefit from a sculpting facial! Microcurrent technology does not use strong electrical currents, so this is a safe treatment for most patients. However, we may recommend another treatment if you have epilepsy, a heart condition, or implanted medical devices like pacemakers. While at-home microcurrent devices are available, we use the best microcurrent devices and have the experience necessary to ensure that your treatment is performed safely.
