Nutrition and Your Skin: Treating Your Skin from the Inside Out

It is common knowledge that proper nutrition is an important aspect of maintaining your health. Our bodies rely on the food we eat to function, and the better the food, the healthier we are. Poor nutrition can lead to several issues like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, but did you know that your diet also affects your skin? A lack of nutrients in your diet can change the structure of your skin and weaken it!

Your skin needs a wide variety of vitamins and nutrients to maintain its health. Some of them are:

Vitamin A

Comes in two forms, retinoids and carotenoids. Retinoids promote new skin cells (skin rejuvenation), and carotenoids prevent cell damage (premature aging).

Vitamin C

Stimulates collagen production and is a powerful antioxidant. Collagen supports and smooths your skin.

Vitamin D

Regulates calcium absorption and fuels your immune system, which fights acne-causing bacteria.

Clears bacteria and excess oil from your skin, preventing acne. It is a natural anti-inflammatory.

A natural anti-inflammatory, it minimizes redness, that fights skin infections, calms sensitivity, and protects cells from free radicals. It can even treat dandruff!

Fatty Acids

Hydrates and thickens skin, preventing signs of aging.

All these vitamins and minerals can be found in everyday foods.

It is always important to support your body with a balanced, nutritious diet. But when you have a health issue or an area that needs more attention, our medical providers will sometimes recommend supplements to fix the problem. Your skin is no different!

Skin Accumax®

Skin Accumax® is a nutritional supplement designed to support skin health, improve general skin problems, and clear non-cystic acne, specifically.  It has a specific concentration of nutrients, unique to Accumax®, that works to eliminate acne and support your skin systemically.

Skin Accumax® includes Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Diindolylmethane (DIM), which is the key to its powerful results. While Vitamin A, C, and E are all working together to support your skin, and immune system, and reduce inflammation, DIM regulates the hormone metabolism, by which sebum production is balanced and normalized. With a decrease in oil production, there is less congestion throughout the skin. In addition, Propionibacterium (P Acne), the acne-causing bacteria, feeds off dead skin and sebum. Without excess sebum and congestion, the bacteria cannot survive.

Skin Accumax® is a gentle and effective approach to skin health. It takes most people an average of 14 weeks to see optimal results, and it is not uncommon to see a “purge” or breakout about ten weeks after beginning Skin Accumax®, right before your skin clears completely.

While Skin Accumax® was designed to treat severe acne, it is a fabulous treatment and prevention supplement for all skin types. It is not suitable for women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, women who are breastfeeding, and people under the age of 16. As always, if you are under the care of a physician, consult with your doctor prior to starting Skin Accumax®.
